Makes me wonder how Mark Walts came up, and if indeed the Walts killing could be solved.

Mark Walts was the one that Danny DeCarlo said wasn't done by anybody in the Family, isn't it?
If I remember right, DeCarlo said the Family members were shocked when they heard.

Yes it was but according to Nellie (spitting heaving and chunking) he spoke to Alan Mark's brother and he said that Mark used to go to the ranch all the time and he was told by his Ma not to go there anymore..
I wonder if this has ever been solved.
