I saw a ton of dead shows back in the day, kinda strange to see Weir playing with Grogan. Grogan has on the white hat. http://ratdog.org/photos/2001-02-13s
Tried to get an enlarged screen cap - He looks so different. Part of me was still expecting a neck beard and long hair. Now there's just the grin.
I don't believe Weir did. I may be wrong, but I never saw anywhere that Clem's band members knew his about his past.
Greetings meathead. And thanks for the pictures link. Interesting. I always loved GDs music and the whole scene. I sure hope Bobby didnt know the guy was Clem. It would kinda be like finding out your baseball/football hero growing up did steriods, gambled, and fixed games. Would be interesting to find out though.
I wouldn't recognize him if I saw him walking down the street, he really looks different. The girls I would know if I ever saw one of them, they look the same, just older. FB
Hi Timeless Winds, I'm not sure what Deadmet was referring to, however, Manson did attend at least one of the Grateful Dead shows at the Avalon in San Francisco in 68'.
No wonder he's grinning, " Scramblehead " won the Coconut, he is out, while the rest ROT in the pokey including the so called "Master Manipulator". Clem wasn't so DUMB after all, Eh!
That idiot got very lucky when the decision was made for Burton Katz to prosecute him. Katz was instrumental in getting Clem out, and is obviously an old softie - look at how he handled the Dominique Dunne (daughter of writer Dominck Dunne) murder trial in the early '80s. Outrageous. ( By then he was a judge.)
Charles Manson supposedly took his first LSD 'trip' at the Avalon Ballroom in 1967, playing that night was The Greatful Dead. Simon Wells Coming Down Fast. *One of, if not the most enduring images of the Grateful Dead was first seen on a poster promoting their show at the Avalon Ballroom on Sept 16th & 17th, 1966. http://www.classicposters.com/Grateful_Dead/poster/Family_Dog/26
