I think that very briefly - in the late 1950s when he was on and off screen with Sandra Dee - his star was in the ascendant and (if the expression was used at that time) would have been considered an A-lister. I am just a little ashamed to recall that I used to read Photoplay in those days, and remember reading about him. Jem
