I've never heard of one of Jay's girlfriends supposedly being invited there for a party that night. The story that's always been told is that the girl he was with the previous night and all day Fri. was supposed to contact him on Fri. night, but was at someone else's house and he was already gone by the time she called. I wonder if he'd have gone out with her if she'd called on time?

I looked up Van Dyke Park and found out the name is Van Dyke Parks, not Park. There's lots of info on him so it'd be easier for you to google him than to try to list everything. He was connected with the Beach boys and Terry Melcher, just to name a few things. As for Harvey, he was connected to the death of Diane Linkletter. Certain people surrounding her were connected with the family. Once again, it's easier to google it than to try to write it all down. i found too many links.
Suzan Peterson was Jay's current squeeze on 8/8/69 (TLB 1st Homicide Report) and was invited by Jay to Cielo but forgot to phone him at 7pm to confirm. Van Dyke Parks was a Laurel Canyon Resident and friends with John Philips , Cass Elliot and Abigail and Voytek ,who lived across the road from Elliot. He claimed he was invited to Cielo along with John Philips on 8/8/69. Sharon often visited Abby in Laurel Canyon. Harvey F Dareff is mentioned in TLB 2nd Homicide Report as being a possible Visitor on 8/8/69 to either buy or sell narcotics.

When did Van Dyke Parks go up to visit Terry only to find out he'd moved? Was it in the evening or during the daytime? That's very interesting. First time I've heard this before. Another new thing to hear about.
