Hi my first post here. I'm not sure if I've put this in the right section. I've read somewhere (don't remember where) that the SLA (Symbonese Liberation Army ) tried to contact the Family for support at some stage. Does anyone know anything about this?

Probably of no consequence, but I always thought there were a few similarities between Susan Atkins and Nancy Ling Perry of the SLA (apart from the fact that they had very upbringings)killed by the LA police in the 1974 1466 East 54th Street shootout. Almost the same age, heavy drug use, Ling Perry working in SF as a topless blackjack dealer, Atkins as a topless dancer in SF.

    Welcome aboard Electric Ray.

Check the Associates of the Family Board, Kenneth Como-there is an article there about Ken, Gypsy, the SLA, bank robberies and credit card scams..

I can look for more info too if you like.

    But once again welcome aboard.

Thanks for the welcome Cats. I will check the Family associates board. I would also be grateful for further info - thanks.
Maybe the 60s really ended in that 1974 shootout with the SLA rather than with the Family and / or at Altamont.

Will add it to the cat to do list.

Another interesting character, in the cast of many, was Larry Bailey t/n Larry Giddings. He sseemed to go radical as well and followed thru with stuff.
