The portrait "Storks" has reappeared on ebay (under Susan Atkins--she supposedly drew it). I have submitted a report (complaint?) to ebay under the "Offensive Material Policy", i.e., artwork done by a violent felon. I'm not against anyone scratching out a living but I question the posting of this artwork, the associative information (Manson family member, etc.), and the fact someone is making a profit ($10,000 going price) for something done by an individual convicted of murder. The seller opens the door to view other items they have in stock. I haven't looked, I hope there aren't portraits of Pogo the Clown by John Wayne Gacy. The above are my opinions only. Thank you for consideration of my concerns.
You might also have added that it disrespects the wishes of the deceased - Susan was vocal about putting a stop to the murderabilia trade. Ifthe pic was posted for a notrmal price I' have no qualms about the nice pictures sale (it will brighten some persons days) - but the value put on it and crime mention obviously adds an inbuilt premium on notoriety.
Just curious. Are you being sarcastic when you say the painting itself is offensive? Because it really isn't. Nothing about it is offensive. The idea that someone is making money off it, on the other hand...
