I'm so sorry to intrude on your forum here, but Eddy, over the years so many negative and horrible things have been written about me that are simply not true. But, in light of my personal beliefs in freedom of speech and thought, I have never responded to any comments written about me because, good or bad, true or false, everyone has a right to their opinion. But in light of my own personal morals on the subject of selling death/crime/morgue photos, I'm gong to take exception to my silence over your comment because it is truly a distasteful thought, hurtful, disturbing, and simply not true.

A: I did not move to Los Angeles until 1988, and I did not meet Mr. Nelson until 1991--a year after moving into the Cielo house--though he started sending me letters in 1990 to the Cielo address.
B: I had never even seen the crime scene photos until long after I moved into the Cielo house when in 1992, Nelson and I paid a visit to (ex) detective Earl Deemer .
C: I would never sell crime scene or death photos for "big bucks" or any bucks. The thought is truly nauseating.

As long as I'm on the subject of photos, Nelson & Deemer, I'd like a chance to clear the air about the now infamous stolen photos that I took from Deemer's house...

The fact is, I did it and I'd do it again tomorrow for the Tate family or for Jane Doe's family down the street because that's where those photos belonged--with the victim's family...Why? Because when we lose someone we love all we have are memories and photographs.

When I walked into Deemer's dining room, the table was piled high with "memorabilia" on Sharon's case. In the midst of it all, I found the slides and negatives of Sharon, Jay, & Woytek at the Cielo house. Because he held both the negatives and the slides, I knew the victim's families had never seen them. And I was mad as hell because Deemer had kept those pictures from the victim's families for 23 years. Pictures that they deserved to enjoy, to look at, and to remember their loved ones by. I stole them not for profit, but because the victim's families been denied that joy and right by a man that wanted them for his personal collection or to sell them once his pension was secure.

How dare he? was all that kept running through my mind. ... So, yes, when the two of them left the room, I stole as many as I could pocket, made enough copies for each of the family members (Sebring & Frykowski) and sent them to Patti, for no other reason than that is where they had belonged all along.

When Nelson and I left Deemer's house I told him about the stolen photos and my plan to return them to the rightful owners and he was extremely angry with me. Following that, Nelson made many threats of what he'd do if I didn't return the pictures. I told him to f@#k off-- That is why Nelson and I parted company. Plain and simple, we had two different agendas and I could not condone his.

I'm sure many of you will still hold the opinion that a thief is a thief, and, of course, you're entitled to feel that way about me. But there is nothing that anyone could say that would make me personally believe that what I did wasn't the morally right thing to do.

And, for the record, my upcoming book will (I believe) be the only book dealing with this subject matter that doesn't include a single photo of the crime/morgue scenes.

I do want to take this opportunity to apologize to you publicly Alisa because that wasn't something I should have shared in a public format. I'm sorry and I truly mean that. I knew that Nellie was pissed off at you and I'm wondering now if he was using your name to sell the crime scene photographs at that early stage of the game (before his website etc) All kudos for you in taking the copies of Sharon et al from Deemer so that what you did obtain could be returned to the family. Had you not done this who knows if they'd have ever seen them and they did need to be seen. Again I'm sorry because my intenet was not to slander you or such and that's what seems I did. This is coming so late as until this week I've been off the group for a month and a half. I extend my apologies to any one else in Cat's group that this hurt. Eddy

Honestly, there are times I think the clear vision around here gets cloudy as mud, but you did hit the nail on the thumb when you said Cats cares for the people on this site. Cats can attest to this, we've spent a short lifetime talking to one another. We've spent countless hours on the phone and the e-mails fly back and forth to the tune of 15 and 20 a day. I think I know the girl pretty well, as a result. I've heard her agonize about how to handle even some of the nastier prieces of work this site has suffered. I've heard her agonize about how interview materials were being misused and abused by another individual. I've heard her sympathy for people who have been outed by those with lower standards of morality. She'll send me .pdf documents to slice, dice, watermark and upload and then she'll start questioning if posting them to the forums is a moral and upright decision. People have seen some interesting photos and documents posted here, but you would be surprised at what you haven't seen here. Simply because Cats' moral compass moved her away from posting something that might be seen as hurtful.

As for the Colonel, there's no denying the guy has got some deeper insight into all of this. There are times I read what he's saying and I find myself cheering him on. But then I see some of the ultra-negative trash-talk that goes on over there and find myself growing weary with all of it. I get the sensation he likes to say he hates suffering nonsense, but I note he spends a lot of time focusing on it. At the end of the day, I would enjoy being able to sit down and talk with the man, because he's never rolled over and played sheeple to the Bugliosi account.
