Yes...very sad/tragic :'( I really feel bad for all the victims-but little is ever said about Steven-it's always Sharon Tate and the others when mentioning the murders...

Poor guy just wanted to sell his clock radio-he was saving up $$$ to go to college...

Thanks for the welcome-this is really a very interesting board, I post on Sharon's IMDB board...this one really discusses everything and everyone involved with this very complex crime...

No...I don't know what Steven was going to study in college, I forgot where I read he wanted to go to college, but I think he was going to start off with community college first.

Not that I know this, but I would think he would have gone to college for something to do with electrical or sound...Just my guess

I read that he was planning to go to Citrus Community College in Azusa, which is a city not far from where he lived in El Monte. It is a 2 year college that feeds into Azusa pacific University, which is practically next door to it. I don't know what he planned on studying.

That photo - the wide smile and all - really tugs at your heart.

I think of all of the pics I've seen of Steven, this one makes him look so young and still 'boy-ish."

could someone tell me exactly where was parent's car found on the property? I'm have trouble with why the maid didn't see the car if it was in the drive. In the crime scene photos, it looks like it's closer to the tate house and not where folger's car is...closer to the guest house.

Also, there is something troubling about what parent said to Tex..."I won't say anything" Say anything about what? What did parent really see? I thing the story we all have heard is wrong. I thing parent saw the murders being committed and run to his car. Tex ran outside and and caught-up to him as he was backing out..this is why parent said "I won't say anything"

It was in the drive and pushed away from the gate. They said parked in an odd angle and you can see that in photos. I would say closer to the garage but not where Folger and Sebring's cars were no. I've never read Winnie didn't see the car but she didn't take any special notice of it. Who knows how many times she reported to work and saw different cars etc. Especially that summer while Roman and Sharon were gone. It was while exiting the property that she then noticed Steve slumped over in the front seat.

She actually said she saw Parent in the car while running out? this is rather odd after seeing the carnage in the house. One would expect her to not only see the car, but also to see a slumped parent while going to the house...if she could see parent slumped while in a fright leaving the house, she could see the same while in a normal state going to the house...not saying she's fabricating, but this is strange.

I think she was running late and on hurrying in she passed the side of the car where it wasn't as obvious. I think she just didn't look to tell the truth. No, I think Mrs. Chapman was a very honest woman. The one thing I noticed about her when on the stand. She answered and she answered honest but wasn't going to be forthcoming with information she didn't feel was relevant to the case either. She seemed very protective of Sharon and the others. I thought it was very cool of her.

Something else, the police found the car in 2nd gear. How is this possible if the gang pushed the car up the drive? One would suspect that the car would be in park or neutral. Let's see. Parent sees Tex approach at the gate. The car is in drive still because parent drove the car to the gate and applied the brake to stop at the gate. He rolls his window down to open the gate and Tex approaches... car is still in drive? Or maybe parent puts car in park..Ok, whatever he did, park or drive. If in drive, after he's shot, the car would have rolled forward into the gate..was there any gate damage? If in neutral, the car would have stayed in its position depending on the slope. Whatever it was the gang had to put it in neutral to push it. Was this car automatic or stick? Someone from the gang had to steer the car as well as it was being pushed. Can this car be pushed if it's not running? It obviously was not running if they said they pushed it. So, they obviously put the car in neutral and put it into 2nd gear so the car wouldn't roll once at the top of the drive. If someone had to steer this car, there would have been prints all over the place..were there? These are the small details that can help to understand if what we have been told is true. Manson specifically told Tex not to use the gun unless he had to...why shoot parent at the very beginning of there murder spree if parent is at the gate ready to leave? No mention that the four thought parent saw them. Tex comes out of the shadows and exposes his presents...something is wrong with the story about parent...I know in my soul that he saw a lot more than we have been told..."I won't say anything" That statement is very telling. Parent did not know who was who at the Tate residence. He was only there briefly 2 times. If you see someone come out of the shadows, do you say "please don't hurt me?" Yes. And then "I won't say anything?" Hell,no...doesn't make any sense at all.
