Who else, other than Gibby and Steve McQueen, invested money into Jay's business venture?

    Didn't John Markham?

Weird note-dont know if it is the same guy, but there was a John Markham who went on to be the Process Church of the FInal Judgements attorney at a point and who spoke out on Leslie.

i think Warren Beatty was an investor. He was certainly a close friend. And Paul Newman might have been too.

We'd need to find an early annual report, although share holders often insisted on anonymity!

There is a website where you can purchase relatively inexpensive Sebring mens hair products, shampoo/conditioner etc, does anyone know who started that and who profits from it?

Jay had those products (men's shampoo, hair spray and a combo com/brush) when he was alive.  If you look at pictures of the salon's interior, you can see the items.

Are they still selling them, btw?  I remember years ago, when I was in the cosmetology field, I was shopping at a beauty supply place and I saw some products that had the name Sebring on the bottles, and remembering him from HS, I wondered if it was his products and was surprised they were still making/distributing them, since I figured he died, and the company, I assumed closed down upon his death.  Many years later, I found out that indeed they were from Sebring's company and I guess there was a small amount of his products being sold in a few of the beauty supply places.  I felt happy that his products were still being made, even though I never knew anyone who used them.  I don't shop at beauty supply stores hardly since they all moved about 20 miles away in a newer, up and coming area of town so haven't seen any in my neck of the city.

Yep, you can still buy them at a Sebring salon and over the internet. ;)

I dont know if any of you have read Kirk Douglas The Ragman's Son an Autobiography from (1988) where he writes about his movie Spartacus and says.

I wanted everything about Spartacus to be special and authentic I went to see Jay Sebring, a genius with hair. Jay was a charismatic, tiny little fellow. Good-looking. and well built. quite the Lady's man. Jay came up with the distinctive look for the slave--hair cut butch on top, long in back with a tiny pony tail. He go's on to write how that haircut was a trend in the eighties and called the Spartacut. He also talks about Jay and Sharon being together before she met Roman and how the baby could possibly be Jay's due to their affair may have still been going on. He writes how Beautiful, young, and Naive Sharon was. and how he heard of the murders on his car radio, and how incomprehensible the murders were even if a lot of it was drug related. He says Jay was a tremendous guy, and how Jay's 18 year old Protege " Little Joe" then became his new Barber. Has anyone ever heard or read anything about " Little Joe" this is the first reference I have seen on "Little Joe"

There has been a website up for awhile that no one has done anything with, jaysebring.com. I think it's for a documentary film his nephew Anthony DiMaria was working on, about Jay's life and business. Does anyone know what's happening with that, if it's still in production or if it's been stalled? It would be really interesting to see interviews with Jay's family, friends and business associates and learn more about who he was and what he was like during his lifetime. In my local bookshop there was Steve McQueen biography that I picked up, just to see if Jay was in the index. He was, but the book was written in a tabloid style and seemed generally dismissive of him, considering McQueen delivered his eulogy. I didn't buy it. I'm glad Kirk Douglas remembered him fondly.

The documentary is still in production.

"Little Joe" was a guy who worked for Jay and who took over many of Jay's clients after his death.
