I think that it all depends on what jurisdiction someone is reported missing etc. If someone is reported missing say in Kansas, and the body pops up in Washington State, it may not be the fact that no one reported the person missing, it is just the system itself lacking. I remember reading on Ted Bundy, and a lot of jurisdictional problems were there. He would take victims and dump them in totally non-related places to those he took, and far enough away he would avoid detection. I remember that some of the Green River killers victims were reported missing by loved ones, but due to their economic status and life-style, they weren't given high priority on police duties to find. It was assumed that they had just wandered off etc. Back in '69-70, I would think that the tracking system would be worse, and if Jane Doe#59 hadn't come from the immediate area, perhaps the police had nothing to compare anything to at that time. Pure speculation on my part, and it seems as there were a few bodies found on Mulholland Drive as well.
Yeh its crazy that all Police murder appeals are not made National. This is changing Before this was only done if the case became a federal case and the FBI were involved. They would facilitate between the two different police Forces. Yes if jane doe was just dumped there, she would only be seen as missing else where. Even the UK cops are aware of this. And what happens when the killer moves town and starts all over again. Thor
The problem in the US is volume. Police Officers have told me that they are inundated with information of cases around the country. There is no way they can read it all. It would be all they get accomplished in a day's work.
Is this perhaps the indian maybe hispanic looking girl who was supposedly taken from her own driveway that's talked about on charliemanson.com
while I am not a detective, the fact that it is stated in the article that she was wearing riding boots makes me wonder add this to the Ruby Pearl statement (cant remember where, but also noted in reply to last Jane Doe 59 topic) that she thought she saw Jane Doe 59 at Spahn using name Sherry, makes an enthusiast go hmmmmmm.... while the investigative tools were more limited at the time surely these clues could be leads in an investigation
Welcome coonhound. True that makes sense, but the Sherry and Sherry Cooper are confusing. It would be good to know if Pearl meant Sherry Cooper- for Sherry is alive and well, as evidenced by our you tube video of her and Danny. I often hear Sherry Cooper as being Jane #59, but she really isnt.
