I found at the Napa County Recorders Office a Grant Deed for the purchase of a home in the Napa Valley by Duncan and Joanne Pitman. The date of recording is Jan 4, 1979. This must have been purchased in anticipation of Nancy's release from prison. The document is in Vol 1110 Page 457. The home was sold July 28, 1987 Vol 1530 Page 375

The article you have posted for Monfort's 1984 parole says she had been in Napa since 1981. Monfort was from Napa so it isn't surprising that that is where she was paroled. It is also handily located between San Quentin and the prison in Vacaville. So I'm assuming they were still married.
I have an article on Monfort I will have to dig out, on the last sentencing before he went to prison where he died. He got like 99 years, and he got a few months off for good behavior. He cracked some joke at that.
Yes, it's always nice when mom and dad can help you out. And, wow, a house to boot! I'm surprised her parents would buy her a house considering her old man was Monfort. Really, if your daughter was with a guy like Monfort, could you find it in your checkbook, I mean heart, to buy a house for your wayward daughter. Although Duncan Pitman could afford to buy her a house since he was one of the inventors of the Sofar alarm used in the Navy. Help me figure out the timeline here because I'm a little confused. So, Nancy, was just laying low in the mid-seventies while Monfort was in jail? He got out, they play husband and wife, then he gets into trouble again? He goes back to prison, but did he die in there? Would appreciate some clarification.
Yes, he died in the prison hospital in July of '05 (this all from memory I'll double check my docs when I get a chance). I believe he was serving his time in Mule Creek before he became ill. He was 1st released from prison in May of '84. He was in & out of prison after that. He and Nancy divorced in 1990.
I read somewhere else (on here) that they are now in Bend Oregon...As I remember it is about her son being arrested for DUI... Is this just her kids or is she there also? And if they all live there, does anyone know how long they have lived there? Just wondering, as I have close family members that live in Bend... It is a beautiful area!!!
