Anyone know anything about this??? BB is script consultant. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1671471/fullcredits#cast
Who is William Manson? He is listed as a character in the movie. I wonder if this is based on the book BB was writing. FB
It has a tentative release date in the uk of October. I also gather that Manson Girls is now been filmed for definite.
LOL, FB. We all have our moments! I know very little about William Manson and I don't think there has been much written about him beyond being Manson's step-father. It will be interesting to see how the movie has managed to make a full fledged character out of him.
It's amazing how he has been able to keep such a low profile all these years. I've never heard of any interviews from or about him. FB
FB, I would guess that William Manson passed away long ago. His name is a little too common to try to track without a middle initial or exact age particularly when I'm not so sure where he and Kathleen Maddox got together. Kathleen was from Kentucky, I found her and her brother Luther in the census records of 1920 and 1930 for Kentucky. Both records state that Kathleen was born in 1918. We know at some point Kathleen went to Ohio because that's where Charlie was born. The little I have found on William Manson says that he was much older than Kathleen and there are at least a half a dozen William Manson's between Kentucky and Ohio that were born in the late 1800's and very early 1900's according to census records. Also there is no guarentee that the correct William Manson was enumerated by the census!
It is interesting to see Col Scott listed as a character too. Not alot is known about him or his association w/ CM. Anyone know who Janis is? I wonder how much BB could bring to a film as a consultant? He wasn't around much before the murders and was in jail during the murders. I imagine he would be able to give some insight into some of the characters and how they thought and acted.
Manson Descending??? Shit Coming Down would be most accurate, but not very marketable ;-) I'm wondering if Janis is Janis Joplin, who once counted Sadie Atkins as her neighbour, lucky her. BB was a street person: one of the main criticism of films depicting that era is they just don't FEEL right. BB would be able to guide them on that, I guess, and how people related to each, how they "were", if you see what I mean.
Haha, I like those titles. You don't think BB might have been too self absorbed back in the day to notice in much richness just "how people were"? I never find him good at being a detached observer in interviews, he tends to have strong likes and dislikes dependent only on how useful to him people were.
Quite agree, TL, but I was wondering if he'd be able to bring some authenticity to the portrayal of the sixties. By his own machinations, he's had plenty of time to think about it. How he personally relates to people ... well, he was a street guy and then a prison guy ... people can probably be divided up into those who are useful and those who aren't, and relationships formed with the former and not the latter. I've never met him, I have no idea what he's like as a person, save what I get to read here and in books ... and whilst they can say so much ... they can't say it all ...
