What? The soft bigotry of low expectations for a movie entitled "The Manson Girls"? I myself am confident that this subject will be treated with high standards of realism and authenticity, and I am sure the production team will studiously avoid the tawdry, superficial and sensational aspects of this case in exchange for a serious portrayal of the tragedy of young women who sadly make some bad choices and are exploited by men who themselves are victims of a society which does not provide them with sufficient social supports and frameworks for integrating themselves into the larger community in a productive sense. Rather than focus on images of nudity and violence, I expect we will see more critical analysis from well credentialed experts who can place the activities of these misguided young women into the greater context of the struggle for equality in a power system largely dominated by the western notions of hegemonic control over definitions of language and cultural normalcy which are in fact relatively elastic in the sense that they are more social constructs than representative of an objective reality. I hope they show Susan squatting to take a pee in front of everyone during the LASO raid.
And taking a crap in the stairwell of Nadir's apartment building, poor thing...she just couldn't hold it any longer.
