There were rumors of Charlie working for the cops too.

This is disturbing.  I wonder if the police or other agencies use people to infiltrate the various discussion groups on the internet.  Some of those peace groups could be dangerous. LOL  Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if certain agencies utilized trolls in order to cloud, distract, or confuse discussion on various boards.

I have heard of those people, hired by agencies. It is a crazy concept that it is necessary to send people in to bash others and call them names and such to hide things. To me that just shows how much they don't want you to figure out. To make a living out of trolling, lord. If that is sane, I'd rather be crazy.

    LOL

I once read about trolls "for hire" but I thought  "no way."  But then when you go to some of those discussion boards you can't help but assume that it must be true.

Yep said, In the 30s and 40s peace groups, anti-war groups and patriottic organizations were set up and many of them were in reality doing nothing more than spreading fascist propaganda in disguise. I wouldn't be surprised if similar tactics are now employed on the internet.

It is because of this that I am skeptical of just about every political or religious organization. There is a possibility that they are infiltrated or even funded by their opposition. I just saw an article about a Neo Nazi rally in Miami that was funded by the FBI. Then I read somewhere that the Southern Poverty Law Center has funded KKK groups and Neo Nazi groups. I don't know if it is true but it would not surprise me.

I guess creating a fake enemy is some type of psyop operation.

Interesing that you mention this because I wonder if this is also connected to the push for "hate legislation." : )
This legislation has been piggy backed into several bills over the last several years but has failed to pass.

The sponsors of such legislation make it sound good because it will dole out punishment for those who say hateful things about various groups. Or penalties for various crimes could be more harsh if the motive was "hate."

In reality, a bill like this will end free speech.

Plus, who is to define hate speech. If we don't like something that the government does, then our verbal objections could be considered hate speech.

Or if one were to point out Italian involvement in the mafia, this statement could be considered racist. When in reality, the person making a such a statement, may have nothing against Italian people as a whole.

And everytime this legislation comes to a vote, the news media will have a flurry of reports on racist crimes. This may be to influence opinion towards accepting this type of legislation.

Not to mention that so many hate crimes have turned out to be perpetuated by the victims.
