    I still think Lina Kasabian didn't write it for she wouldn't have made any money. The Frykowski Family sued Susan Atkins and her attorney over the book she had out....

    I thought it was in her plea bargain deal to do no media without permission. A book ='s media comms. From what I can see near all articles and appearances concerning her or her Mum have been heavily stage managed, from past right to present, with her handler Bugliosi standing somewhere in the shadows like the Phantom of her Opera.

    The difference between Atkins and Kasabian is that Atkins was convicted of the crime, and Kasabian was not. It was not as common to seek civil judgements then as it is now, but it was occassionally done. It would have been harder to become victorious in a civil action against Kasabian, by legal standard, she was not criminally responsible for the killings, thus the standards against her would be differnet. It would have not been as easy to prevent her from writing a book. It could be more that simply, Kasabian, was seen as a pariah by publishing houses, and that no one wanted to touch the book. Certainly, she was viewed by many misguided youth who believed in the Hippie movement as a traitor, and by the blue collar society as a threat, no one would want to buy her book. All speculation on our part though.

    The last paragraph sums it up to me- she cant talk about the case but hell lets write a book :rolleyes:

    Once the case was turned over to the jury, she could say whatever she wanted. But how much of what she said would you be willing to believe, that is the question.

    I, like many here on the forum I suppose, would love to hear the truth from LK w/out any coercion. There has to be more to the baby sitting than just keeping her in line with the Helter Skelter motive, which by this time has more holes than a sieve. I am beginning to think that she had a large part to play in these murders and Bugliosi does not want to tarnish his star. This would occur if the public knew the prosecution gave up way too much to gain her cooperation and testimony. Remember that Susan Atkins deal was to prevent her from being put to death, not to grant general immunity from prosecution. Bugliosi does not trust her to seperate what actually happened with what supposedly happened(the official story). Little things keep slipping out over the yrs. The speed or amphetamines taken,or rifling through a dead man's wallet, if he was even dead, etc, etc. What other skelatons are in this woman's walk-in closet?

    TL do you know where to find details of Linda Kasabian's deal with the prosecution? Anyone else?

    Why was she really along those nights? Dont tell me about a damn drivers lisence as she hardly drove at all. How does someone relatively new to the area know the house next to the LaBiancas and then even recognize it and where she was after driving all around strange/new city for hours? Too much coincidence. How did Rosemary make so much money from a boutique unless it was a front for narcotics? Can we know that Mr Melton's $20,000 dollars actually came from an inheritance? Why take the strumpet along? I have always wondered about how he came by this chunk of change. Who the hell carries $5,000 in cash?(a dealer?) Better yet who leaves it in their van unpretected? Had this bozo never heard of travelers checks or a checking account or credit cards? If he was planning on travelling these would seem essential. If Bugliosi passes away before Kasabian, I believe she will cough up the truth, if the price is right. That is a very big if. LK looked older than the Bug on Larry King despite the fact that he has what 15-20 yrs on her? Drugs and hard livin' :bx: , and perhaps a guilty conscience, have definitely taken a toll on our "poor little hippy girl".

    Looking for info on the deal with LK, can't remember where I saw that. Just stumbled on this;
    Bugliosi. The first day she was at Spahn Ranch, July 4, she did not meet Charles Manson, but she did meet Charles "Tex" Watson and she had sex with him that night. The next day, July the fifth, 1969, she and Gypsy and Mary Brunner left the Spahn Ranch to go to Charles Melton's truck for the purpose of having Linda steal $5,000 of Melton's money, which Linda did. When she returned to Spahn Ranch, she believes she gave the $5,000 to Leslie Van Houten, although she did not know for sure Leslie was the person whom she gave the money to. In any event, she never saw the $5,000 again, and she did not receive any benefit from the $5,000. Now, let's face it. Linda stole $5,000. But let's also face the fact that the theft of the $5,000 took place after Linda had been exposed to the members of Charles Manson's Family.

    Already the rotten apple, she finally found the basket full she felt comfortable in.
