This was a strange one. From what I could gather, the 35 bodies "oft" claim that Bugliosi has rattled out over the years, came from Sandra Good through Lawrence. I was always spooked by that claim of Squeaky's that "Snitches will be dealt with" in the "Manson" film, as it was spoken to Merrick (he was interviewing her). I didnt know that about the list and Sandy and Merrick. I wonder who the man was they suspected? If it is still an open case, paperwork will be hard to get but I am interested in trying at least. Hope all is well.
V.B confirmed this on the "Bertice Berry" show in front of Sandy in '92. I just drew a few strands together. Hendrickson confirmed that the interviews on the film Manson were conducted by Merrick. It appears that they confided some information with him which he then (reportedly) passed on to Bugliosi. S
someone needs to look into the veronica compton angle, could she have murdered him? or had someone murder him? remember she was involved with the hillside strangler kenneth bianchi and tried to murder someone to get him released. i know for a fact she was a student of merricks as well as someone he dated. merrick according to hendrickson was making deals left and right during the filming of "manson" could he have not lived up to one of these deals and someone killed him for revenge. some of these deals include him promising bugliosi that he wouls see to it bugliosi would eventually be attorney general of california and he promised manson he would get him a recording contract. also in an interview with hendrickson he said that he had made a promise to manson that he (hendrickson) would not disclose certain pieces of information to the public until manson's death. what is manson scared of?
Good questions. Where is the info on Compton being a student of Merricks found? That is a new one on me. She is a weird woman, IMHO, and I think the angle should be explored. I wonder what James Whitehouse has to say about the relationship...
it comes from compton herself she has no reason to lie about unless she was just bragging about it to make people suspicious
Do you have contact with her> I doubt she would lie about that either, especially with her whacked out actions with Ken B and such. It would make sense she would try and distance herself from anything like that.
i do not have any contact with compton myself, but i feel like i do. in the 90's and millenium years she was corresponding with a friend of mine. he sent me photocopies of letters she wrote him as well as copies of cassettes she sent. she was pretty crazy and fell in love with my friend by their second letter, some of you may know him as he put out a murderabilia catalog called crime & criminals. at some point i will try to dig out the letters as he knew i only really was interested in manson content, the letters may have contained her admission of dating merrick. the last i heard about compton she was released from prison and living with her elderly husband and theirinfant daughter. my source told me she answered the door, recently after her release, in the nude to some police checking up on her, so i would she was still a nut.
