1) Met Shorty in 1963. 2) Worked with Shorty at Ranch. 3) Shorty was "quite a traveler"-he was in and out all the time. 4) Shorty picked him up at jail after the raid on August 16, 1969 5) The last time he saw Shorty alive was within a couple weeks after the raid. 6) Every time he saw George Spahn, Squeaky was with him. 7) After Shorty disappeared Swartz confronted Manson and said, " Have you seen Shorty?" Manson said, " Well, yeah, I've got a friend up in San Francisco-or somewhere up the coast there--and needed help and it was a lot better job than what Frank Retz offered him., so I guess I gave him a few bucks and he left." Manson left for the desert shortly after this conversation.
