It says that 4 guys and two girls heavily armed went to Cielo to kill Jay, because Jay had picked up Katy and Lulu, stoned, and whipped and violated them. Lulu killed Sharon. The Biancas were killed because they were Jay's godparents and had given Jay the money to start his first hair salon. Melody Petterson was an intimate friend of Sharon and also an inside member of Manson's gang and was now confessing. It also says that Susan Atkins was set free in 1971 .... in exchange for her collaboration ... but does refer to an interview this Melody Patterson had with Jacques Harvey of the Los Angeles Times, if any one wants to look that bit up. Just some crap to sell magazines - not worth a couple of hours translating. Sorry. Argentine magazines have no compunction in inventing whatever they feel like if it will sell. Now, what was Courtney doing reading this, I wonder ... Jem
Does it give a year Jem? For all I can find is stuff on Melody from the 60's-and one article from the 70's, but they want money for it, and can not give me a preview of it to make sure that it what I want.

For all I can find is stuff on Melody from the 60's-and one article from the 70's, but they want money for it, and can not give me a preview of it to make sure that it what I want.
The magazine is called Siete Dis and the article is attributed to May 1974. It starts off referring to the Cielo and Waverly murders as Hace algo menos de cinco aos ('A bit less than five years ago..'). Then in the second part it reads hace poco tiempo, una actriz de la televisin norteamericana, Melody Patterson, resolvi finalmente el tortuoso enigma (A short time ago a North American TV actress, Melody Patterson, finally solved the thorny problem). The article does say that MP was both in the Manson family and that she hobnobbed with the great (guess what, she was supposed to be at Cielo Drive that night (the 10th) but changed her mind cos Frank Sinatra had asked her over). I find it odd that the name has never, never surfaced in relation to the case - at least in nothing I have ever seen - and the article has so much wrong - Jay was found with a dark hood over his head, and the word 'Pig' painted in blood over where he was lying; Leslie van Houten was the one who killed Sharon; Susan Atkins was released; well, you get the idea. So it's probably not worth looking it up. As for the adage 'there's no smoke without fire, in Argentina there certainly is. Jem
Me being me, I had to look her up...she was on F-Troop--that seems to be her main claim to fame.. : And this says she said the stuff was in Jay's basement---from what I remember, Jay did not have a basement... : On that note, this Cat stops wasting her time.
Funny - I switched Google to Spanish only and this story is everywhere, but nowhere in English. Yes, Cats, use your energies in something more worthwhile .. BTW, this Melody woman is still alive so I guess we could ask her > Jem
I loved "F Troop" too and I actually visited "Fort Courage." The set was on route 66. Ahhhh, childhood memories! LOL Melody Patterson had lied about her age, I remember her saying that she was only about 15 when she appeared on this show. The rest of this stuff is new to me tho! And it's very out there."
That article is too funny!! Jay did most of the work on his 1st salon himself, some of his clients helped out with the work. The LaBiancas were his godparents? LOLOL Oh, this is hilarious. I love it, I needed a good laugh! ;D
What was I doing on Argentine websites? Jem, sometimes there are unusual pictures I want to use for my blog on Europeon websites - In Italy you will find the ones of Sharon that are a bit raunchy - that is what the Italians like in their soaps - the blond with the roots growing out and big hips - so that is what their paparazzi focus on and also their still photographers for the pulps - (those magazines sold in kiosks on every corner). I don't know much about South America so I was checking out the same on some of their sites - Sharon was a big focus of the Brazilian press for example. So some articles are in Portuguese. Now how interesting you ask? Why?
no reason other than mild curiosity, polite conversation and a vague attempt to be humorous > I'm happy for you if you find some useful pictures - pictures is about all you'll find that's useful if you trawl the Siete Das web pages. But feel free to ask for a summary if Google Translate doesn't make clear what the page says. Jem
Melody Patterson - this isn't as stupid as I first thought - after doing some research on her she currently looks terrific (not windblown with too much plastic surgery) speaks coherently and basically looks very credible - There was a sort of basement in Jay's house - it was a closet where Paul Bern committed suicide - so he was weird, weird - (what in the world did Sharon she in him - she had a habit of picking strange men) From what I gathered it was built as a type of wine closet - but will check - the house was on a bluff and had space underneath for cubbies etc. Melody Patterson was married to the guy from Hawaii 5-0 - she 'retired' from acting to be a homemaker - I would love to see her interview from way back about Jay and her take on things -
Paul Bern was kiilled (murdered, apaprently) by his common law wife Dorothy Millette in the bathroom doorway. It was upstairs, not in the basement (no basement in that house). The upstairs had the bnedroom, bathroom and dining room. I love that house and have done lots of research on it. I used to have many photos, but they got misplaced which still upsets me as I can't replace them.
I don't see anything weird about what Jay allegedly liked to do in the bedroom. As long as it involves consenting adults, live and let live I say!!
Read that too, Georgia - I have a old book on Harlow and I looked it up - there is a picture of his body coming half way out of the bathroom - I wish you had to pictures too - there is a wine celler - I wonder how big? Same here, I don't think there is a lot of mystery about play games in the bedroom but then combine it with accounts told by Sammy Davis about the coven, hood and the S and M at a private club and it gets into a bit more than scarves and spamking - A coincidence that Sharon uses the term 'gentle' man and then they same term is used over and over in the Harlow book about Paul Bern - But back to Melody - Melody Patterson made a movie on the beach at Malibu - "Angry Breed" and that is how she meet her future husband. But the description of the movie is strange indeed. THE ANGRY BREED 1968 U.S. film. Hawaii Five-O's "Danno" as a Nazi biker dressed in full SS storm trooper regalia! He rapes a 60s bikini beach babe on Malibu beachluckily shes saved by a teen hero! Hero gets a break in the movie business then gets the royal shaft from big Hollywood producer! Bizarre semi-nude exotic dancer LSD costume party! Wild garage fuzz rock that sounds like Steppenwolf meets the Count V! Bikers, hippies, homos, weirdos, boozers, LSD and rock n roll! Sixties rock n roll by Jaime and The Jury, and The Orphan Egg. Murray MacLeod, James MacArthur, William Windom, Jan Murray, Jan Sterling, Lori Martin, Melody Patterson, Burt Taylor. The Angry Breed! I've got a You Tube clip from it - I'll try and find it and post it - I used to know Jackie Barry - Ken Barry's ex-wife - not from LA but from her travels with Di Douglas and another womean who were 'first wives' and had a thing going to establish more court rights from husband's residuals - I wish I knew how to get in contact with her - she seemed like a smart cookie and had a great deal of wit - I'd like to hear more about Melody Patterson - and believe me - she seemed the type of woman that would have found out a lot about her husband's co-star.
Courtney, I actually was in contact with a guy who knew Sammy very well. He was in several photos with him, appeared in films and so on. He told me that much of that talk that Sammy said about the covens, etc. was blown out of proportion. He said that Sammy would basically try anything once. (I'll have to go through my e-mails and read them again) I specifically asked him about Jay and he said that Sammy never told him the story that's been told for years about going to that party and seeing Jay wearing the hood. I got the impression that if there was any truth to this story, this guy would've known it becuse he was very open with me about Sammy.

Its a pretty house, and I don't understand how Jean Harlow didn't like it. I read that she hated that house. I found it sort of ungrateful, if one believes the story of Paul Bern building it for her before they got married and gave it her as a wedding present. Gee, I wish some guy would build me a big house with a swimming pool. There is something I saw the other day, and I think it was a link from this website, and it had a neighbor and they talk about the house and they sort of show the inside, at least, I think they are. Don't know, but I'm assuming so. I think it was on UTUBE.
Found a Flickr page with a ton of pictures of the house! http://www.flickr.com/photos/13533201@N02/ I don't see how Jean couldn't have loved it. I love it!

Gosh, I didn't know it had all those ammenities. No wonder that was one of the reasons Jay liked that house. Too cool, man. Thanks for posting those.
