As you may know the house was torn down and a mansion built. The mansion was listed for 16 million bucks, but they couldn't sell it. The price dropped to 5 million and still it couldn't be sold. I'm sure someone bought it by now, though.
Yes The House has been bought now .The Address was changed to 10066 Cielo Drive to confuse sightseers
Did you notice the main house is not much bigger than the guest house, check the measurements in the article.

It broke my heart when I learned in 1994 that the original home had been torn down. It really was a lovely home and the grounds were just magnificent. If I had had the resources, I would have bought it myself and planted Sharon's favorite flowers in the gardens. The monstrosity sitting on the land now is grotesque. That's not wealth - that's obscenity. Did you see that mountain of concrete; they just hacked a hole into the side of the hill and started pouring in concrete. Proof that money does not lend taste or refinement. Given a choice, I'd rather live in the comfortable, rambling redwood house with its peaceful gardens and trees and hedges, than in that hulking - empty - mansion. I did a Google search of names of residents on Cielo Drive, and most of them are Middle Eastern-types of names. Foreign money, serious money.
I don't think I could have lived there comfortably. I would prefer my house to be happy rather than sad. At least I am working in that direction.
I think it is a great shame that it was demolished and replaced with the grotesque Villa Bella. I would have bought the old house,it needed someone to care for it also and cherrish the memory of the people that lived there. We could have worked with the past, instead it was easier to just get rid of it by demolishing the original house. I would have loved to spend a long night outside, waiting for the dawn to arrive, the same dawn that Sharon would see every day and the dawn that see was to never see again. Thor
I think it's safe to say Thor doesn't jump when a spider runs accross the floor. Someone would have had to come up with serious money to get me to stay there overnight or at the very least several weapons and alot of ammo. I dont know how Nine Inch Nails lived there or anyone else for that matter. Bad mojo....I dont know, Im just sayin
I took these pictures in november of 2007. On a tour that I took earlier last year, I was told that two of the houses down the road were there in '69, but I can't remember which two. There were cars there that day...I don't know if that means somebody lives there or not.
I'm sorry that I randomly pop in and out. I usually pop in and read and don't have time to post, so I don't even log in. Sometimes it's almost like I actually have a life or something. HAHA
Excellent images Non Trepidus. Shows how close the other houses were. Still say its a shame the old house aint there. I would gladly spend the night there,i would even buy the new one, knock it down and rebuild the previous one. I would sit every night waiting to feel the energy, which the house still has,and hopefully i could feel their energy also,if you were patient enough that would eventually happen. Ok call me Spooky Thor from now on. The truth is out there.
