was looking at the photos of Sadie on the website of hers, and noticed something

    1. she changed her hair style a LOT

    2. She went gray.

Now, i am a happily married man of 16 years and I know that going gray is not a willing option for my wife. She would rather paint her hair black than show even a touch of gray. Where am I going with this?

Knowing the vanity of the woman (just look at her photos) she went gray on purpose. How can a parole board say no to a little old lady with gray hair....Leslie is now doing the same thing, and so is Pat

Actually, I believe the prison stopped affording them such luxuries. I think hair dye and cosmetics are now considered a sort of contraband. It's been discussed here before but I'm not sure where exactly.

really! im shocked. most of the time, people in jail are afforded most any luxury especially when preparing fora parole hearing. im sure you could petition the state saying the denial of such items would be considered a veiled attempt to block the parole showing the potential parolee at their worst.

You are not too far off. There have been many frivalous lawsuits filed in the past about access to various cosmetics, with usually the same result. But, since many inmates have little to do, filing such actions fills up there day. One of my closest and oldest friends sits on the bench in the county for which the Chowchilla Women's Facility is housed, and he handles these suits. To say that he becomes very frustrated with the abuse of many of these claims would be an understatement. Most cases lack merit of any type, but it clogs the court calendar for those that might have actual standing.

kinda my take. i suspect that while the creature comforts are kept to a minimum by and large, some of the stuff we take for granted, they fight and scratch to be awarded. i would think hair color would be one of those things and they could win via suit simply to look their best on the day they either get a pass or not.

I believe the prisons cut back on make up and hair care around 2000 hence LVH's dramatic shift in appearance at that time as well.
