Gibby's reputation

Has anyone ever seen any evidence that Gibby would ride the strip with WF and pick up young men, bring them home and help film the evidence?

Don't you think that there would be some person somewhere that had either seen the films or were the ones picked up.

The reason I ask is I can't reconcile Abigail Folger who went to Esalen and worked in Watts being that type of Mrs. Jekyll /Mrs. Hyde.

Is there an evidence of this or simply a rumor?

IMHO, I'd say rumor.  Although, I have also heard and/or read rumor of illegal porn in the Tate house at that time of and around the murders. 

And I can't recite verbatim but Manson (for what it's worth to whomever) has blurted out that there were homemade illegal porno movies in the Tate house. 

But Folger being involved ? I guess possible but I'd think unlikely.

I believe Abagail Folger's only mistake was getting involved with Frykowski.  How ironic in that maybe Folger may have been under a bit of mind control or manipulation
of Voy.  Perhaps Abagail loved Voy so much she ignored the drug business she was funding for him.  And I would think she only did the drugs because VF was doing them.

I have a hard time believing there were snuff films and such being produced by Polanski and I really can't imagine Sharon Tate being in on that.  Was that actually going on even ?

That allegation did appear in a Mama Cass bio I think.  I read an excerpt of it on the web a few months back.  I'll try to find and link it.  Don't forget AF & VF had the house to themselves for many months.  Sharon was only back about 2 weeks when she was killed.  They had the place from March until then.

According to Helter Skelter Gibby was frequently seen in a stupor. She had more MDA in her system that Voytek at the time of her death. Gibby was every bit the hell raiser that Voytek was. The cruising rumors are thrown around about Roman and Sharon too. Jay also had peculiar rumors about his lifestyle. That's all they are though is rumors. What was Gibby and Voytek doing on a wild weekend night when they were murdered? One was napping and the other was reading a book.

If you go back to the Playboy interview you will see that indeed Sharon was an airhead - (sort of like recent beauty queens and questions about maps) however I've always heard that she was a sweetheart, though.

I knew that her talent was, well, suspect when I read that 50,000 dollars had been spent on her acting classes, walking classes, speaking classes etc.

It was said she was a student at the Actor's Studio - well that is my alma mater (sort of) I was a dropout - so I called Mitch and he said that she might have auditioned but she was not a student there.

Mr. Strasbourg had just opened up the studio west and it was in it's fledgling state but money won't get you in - connections will - but those introductions have to be backed up by talent in order to meet the standards.

It has been said that Sharon was promiscuous - but I don't think she made any secret of this before her pregnancy.

Most likely she and Roman did have a open relationship - I would have had a boyfirend on the side also if I found tapes of my husband in my bed with another woman!

The thing about Jay is almost cute though - shoot Doc don't you like a little bit of silk bondage - I've got a bunch of pretty scarfs in my lingerie drawer.  I'll lend you some. 8)

    I don't think they led the wild lives or had the parties that they were accused of having. Most actual social events I know were verified were luncheons. Even the night of the murders they just went to a resturant and only sat in the bar 20 minutes waiting on a table. After Tate moved to Cielo there were few parties. Maybe only one or two. Melcher had the party life when he lived there not Polanski. There was a film found of Gibby and Voytek eating dinner in front of the fireplace with another couple but it appeared the camera was left on accidentally because it recorded a boring dull conversation.
    One woman who dated Sebring knew nothing of his tendency to enjoy being tied up.
    They were a bit more sedate than most people their age it seems.

I am not sure whether that is the same tape or if there are two unrelated tapes. The tape I saw of the dinnr was one of the first Youtubes I ever watched. It was so boring I never had a clue Youtube could ever become so popular. This has been a while though.

[/quote]Hey Courtney, did you ever hear the story about Sharon watering a plant?  The pitcher had a hole in the bottom of it and she was oblivious to it, she just kept filling it with water and it'd leak so she was having problems watering the plant and couldn't figure out why. ;D

I don't know if she was promiscuous or not.  She supposedly slept with her agent which is what led to the fight with Philippe.  Supposedly he caught them in bed together.  During that time, the casting couch was in full bloom so it wouldn't be surprising if there's some truth to that.

And!!  She had at least one "one night stand" that we're all aware of, she went home with Jay the first night they met, but the relationship worked.  So, logically, if she went home with him the first night they met, she probably did it with others?? ??? 

I've never understood the relationship with Roman.  One of my sources told me that she wouldn't marry Jay (who I don't believe was ready to jump into another marriage so soon anyway) because he was playing around so, if that's true, then why would she marry Roman who told her that he wouldn't be faithful? Was it because he was getting lots of press and could get her some recognition?  After all, when she died, she was usually referred to as his wife so it seemed like that's where her name recognition came in.

Hey Cats, the story from Philippe's former (maybe they're still married, I haven't read the story in quite awhile) wife was that he and the agent got into a fight and Sharon got caught in the middle of it, there was no intention to harm her.  Supposedly, the agent then ruined Philippe's career by badmouthing him (or whatever would be done--maybe he's the one who said that Philippe beat Sharon?)  Then again, Sharon's parents supposedly calimed that Philippe did beat her up and it seems logical that THEY would know the truth, huh?  I've also heard that her parents didn't like him, but they loved Jay.  They attended the opening of his salon in San Francisco, so did Abigail.  There have to be photos from that day.  I've seen 2 of Jay and Paul Newman from that day, where are the rest?

This was years ago. Maybe seven. I never thought much about it because I failed to see the significance of it since at the time I thought it was a lousy tape. Videos resurface though. Actually it's the only film of the two I have ever seen even till this day.
