1) George Spahn has known Shorty Shea for 15 years. Shorty Shea worked off and on during the entire 15 year period. 2) Squeaky took care of him all the time and was constantly at his side. 3) The last time George Spahn saw Shorty alive was when he talked to Shorty an dtold him about the job as a security officer at Mr. Retz's place. Shorty, when he left, said that he was going to go down to Frank Retz's place seemed enthusiastic about taking the job for $75 a week plus groceries. 4) George Spahn says that he did not sense Squeaky's presence during his conversation with Mr. Retz concerning Shorty's employment as a security guard to keep the Family off Retz's property.
I wonder if anyone else was present during this conversation that could say whether or not Sqeak was in the room?
I think Shorty's disappearance had more to do with kicking the clan off the Ranch and the take over and buy out of the land by that German company.
More from George Spahn on Shorty Shea's disappearance. I had always thought that Shorty got his nickname because he wasnt short or small. Nice words from George, from one old cowboy about another.
