Ok. I know this was in the other forum, but i made a mistake and so now it's in the correct forum.
Anyway, my question is that is it true that there is footage of the family recording the Family Jams album?? Cany anyone post any pictures if so??

I have to say that I have never heard of this. There was a 32 page booklet issued with the original recording, but I have never been able to get hold of a copy. Perhaps there are some stills shots in that?

The second Hendrickson movie has this footage in it. Whether or not it is the recording of the Family Jams, I do not know.

a 32 page booklet???? Wow, that would be a find. Is this the same recording that Squeaky is holding and talking about in that old interview at the ranch? If so, weren't just a few copies pressed, thus upping the rarity/scarcity quotient?

    From Amazon:

In 1970 some close friends of Charles Manson recorded his collection of lost "desert music" songs as a statement of friendship and faith during his highly unconstitutional trial. The music on these two CDs was recorded while the women embroidered outside the courthouse. This classic acid folk-rock session features Steve Grogan (Clem) on vocals and guitar; ultra-ethereal female vocals from Brenda (Gold), Country Sue, and others; and Catherine Share (Gypsy) on violin with vastly improved sound over previous bootlegs. The second CD contains a never-released hour of unheard songs and radical alternate takes. The 20-page booklet contains unpublished photos and extremely focused liner notes by Manson, Blue, and Red.

Different references on the web say it has 18, 20 and 32. The first two of these is not really possible as pages need to be in multiples of four.

I have the music but have never seen the liner notes. Maybe they say who sings on each track - that would be a find!

Never knew about that. Thanks for the link and I might just order it. Any feedback from you guys yet or did I miss it earlier in the thread?

Ive also been very curious about the details of that record. Exactly when/where was it recorded and by whom? I hear reverb and tape-edits on the record, so it was done at least partially in a studio...it's an amazing record that I think shows real potential in CMs music. I was never impressed by Lie or the other CM recordings, but this thing is fairly complex and interesting musically. I bet this type of performance is essentally what DW/TM and everyone was so blown away by at the time (rather than most of the the songs on Lie).
