This is from the mouth of Donald Laisure, which we know we cannot believe. But I wonder what Susan Atkins had to say about how they met...not saying it is any more believable..anyone know where Susan says she was in 1965?

Can't say for sure where Atkins was in 1965, but I have feeling she was still in Northern California in the Bay Area. Didn't she get busted in 1966 along with those guys who got into trouble in Oregon? I think she met them in San Francisco. I don't see how anyone from the Family kept in touch with any outside people.

I never thought of that ZOOM. It is doubtful that they corresponded during her time with the Family. Maybe it was their special ESP bond ...(insert loud retching smiley here)

isn't ESP considered witchcraft by christians?

That I am not sure, but an interesting point. I know that certain religions freak out over reading of horrorcopes etc., and the donating of blood..

what i understand from christian types like bob larson, jimmy swaggart, billy graham, etc. anything dealing with the occult is truly considered "witchcraft." i've known of christians who will not have their palm read, their tea leaves read, their tarot cards read because it is "witchcraft."

i also forgot to say that i had worked with two pentalcostal christians who thought my interest in Manson and Jonestown was downright satanic.

I knew someone too, who believed that listening to rock music was channellling the devil. Crazy stuff.

well, i consider myself an enlighted Christian, but I also like to consider myself a fairly intelligent person, so I view most of that stuff as issues that busy bodies focus on. I focus on the stuff that I should be doing, and not the stuff other people are doing

I had a very good friend that went completely bonkers for Jesus. We hadn't seen each other for a few years and when she came over to my house she saw a book on the shelf that had "Devil" in the title and said I was going to hell just for having it in my house. It was an "invitation" for the Devil to take my soul and I was in deep trouble. She wanted to pray with me after we burned it in the fireplace. The ironic thing was it was written by Bob Larsen. It was about things for parents to look for regarding Satan and their children. Rock music, pentigrams, candles various satanic stuff, drugs, etc. I was laughing so hard because it was written from a Christian perspective and I clearly wasn't going to hell (I may, but I don't think so). I tried to tell her it was a Christian book but the laughing got to her, she said I was possessed and I haven't seen or heard from her since.
I seems that it is really easy for some people to grasp something so tightly they lose all reason.....like the Mansonites did
