Does anyone know where to find a copy of the floorplans to the original Cielo house? Ive been all over the internet and the best I come up with is the diagram from the HS book with the blood locations. Id really love to find just plain floor plans.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/eddyroy/3757459845/ I'm going to look up Robert Byrd and see if I can't find something.
Mellyn I have been to some weird places trying to find a floor plan, probably you have too, maybe even came across this one, ill post it anyway, dont know how to resize, maybe mike will do the honours.
Sorry, but there's not much I can do with it. It's just too small an image. I can run the size up, but it turns into a fuzzy blur.
Thanks guys. Ive already done extensive online research on Robert Byrd but couldnt find floorplans, but alot of the articles do mention him building the house for Michele Morgan.
http://www.charliemanson.com/places/cielo-rare-photos.htm I really apologize if this link has already been posted however they have a lot of photos of the house and even a couple with Michele Morgan in them.
That walkway in front of the split rail fence is interesting...I always thought that beyond the split rail fence was a huge dropoff. But looking at the diagram, it looks like you can walk from the driveway to the guesthouse in front of the split rail fence.
The walkway afforded the occupants of the main house privacy from guests going to the guest house and visa versa. FB
GTA, the walkway dropped down from the driveway area and there was a flight of steps leading up to the guesthouse, at the other end.
Dunno about CA, but I do know that in Buenos Aires I once needed floor plans and found they were lodged in two places - one the water authorities and the other the 'Dirección General del Catastro', which my dictionary tells me is the 'General Directorate for the Cadastre' (cadastre is a good word for Scrabble; look it up on Wikipedia here if you don't know the word) - but is more likely to translate for normal people as Real Estate Tax Registry. We got ours from the water board and had to pay, but I seem to remember that this information is in the public domain except for military and government buildings. You can also find the architect's name from these sources, and his/her office mighty still exist. If it helps Jem
Thanks again everyone, I'll see what I can do. If Im able to obtain a copy I'll be sure to share it here.
It's possible that someone who was an architect could in fact draw something up for you if you're planning a build? I don't know the dimension on each room in the original but you could probably get something very close? Wasn't the square footage on the original 4,600 sq ft?
