Michael from the Backporch tapes starred this footage on his channel, www.youtube.com/backporchtapes

Barbara Hoyt is interviewed after testifying. All I can say is Good God.

    Thanks Michael  :-*

Don't hold back Cats... we cannot tell what you are saying !!! :p

I mean crikey (Okay Jean asked me not to hold back).

The word Pigs and offing them have a bad connotation...then she giggles and says hello to her sister whose name means Piggy or something...I mean WTF was that?

Two-she just testified in open court about what she supposedly saw etc but when asked by the newsmen what she said all of a sudden she cant say?

WHY IT WAS IN OPEN COURT WITH THE GALLEY FULL FER CHRISTS SAKE...

    Phew... 0:)

Wonder how long it had been since she had eaten that LSD hamburger?

I guess the family thought "how do we dose her without her knowing?"  "oh yeah a Hamburger, there's  no way she could turn that down" >:D

She looks all fucked up.  I really don't think she has her shit together or knows what she's talking about, even today. Looking like shit and all.

"piggy mouse" wonder who that was directed toward?  Bold move on her part.

    Sorry, I couldn't help it.

Let me play  >:D advocate for a minute.

With all the murders that were going on, if they really wanted Barbara dead, dont you think she would have gone poof? She had to be accessible to them if she went to Hawaii with Ruth Ann.

Ruth Ann was just a teenager. What if the intent was just to "prank" her by dosing her--not a funny joke, but in the mind of a teenager, who knows..

Then it takes on this mythic "They tried to kill me" status.

    Interesting.
I'm sure  they knew it was impossible to overdose on LSD too.

And she was sooooooooooo super fearful of them, but yet went to Hawaii.

I wonder what the plans for that trip really were? I mean if she was scared and was going to testify all holed up somewhere that would make sense.

But she takes a trip ( >:D ) and I wonder if the trip was supposed to be over before she was to testify?

And let's not forget, this was from a group of people that allegedly couldn't see their way clear on a $600 bail ticket, so went to Cielo Drive to 'kill everyone and take all their money'.  But they could afford to purchase plane tickets?  Sure, I understand the rationale behind all that.

    OK, so I lied.

Another interesting aspect is the fact there were other Manson associates with connections in Hawaii.
  9. catscradle77 Administrator

They used stolen credit cards they got from Dennis Rice.

And yes, didnt Tex have connections there?

I want to make it clear that I'm not trying to defend Babs Hoyt here, but there were very few Family members at that time who made much sense.
Why didn't they kill her?  Who knows?
They had access to Paul Watkins, Juan Flynn, Brooks Poston, Danny DeCarlo, Al Springer & others and didn't kill any of them either.  ???
    I'm just saying.........

She is higher than a kite, she can't even walk a straight line down the hallway. How and why was she allowed to testify?
Bugliosi surely must have noticed somthing was seriously wrong with his witness.  :-[ Would it be grounds for an appeal? Was it one of their cockeyed schemes to discredit Hoyt?

    Whitehorses, I love your Pink Floyd quote. . . . .

I will have to look how long it was after the Hamburger incident. For I thought she went into a hospital and got it out of her system...so if that is the case, she stoned herself...

Or could it have been some kind of weird flashback...

Is there a transcript of her testimony?
  14. catscradle77 Administrator

I can get a copy of it.

I'd say by the time she realized that some one had dosed her, it was too late.  Having her stomach pumped at that point probably did nothing at all. Especially if it was liquid LSD.  Wonder how much Ruth Ann put on the burger?
  16. catscradle77 Administrator

The thing that was said was something along the lines of "I wonder what would happen if there were 10 hits of acid on that burger".

From what I can tell, the incident happened in Dec and she didnt testify until Sept the next year. So, can we assume she stoned herself?

I don't have much to say about this broad, except to ask a question:

After Barbara Hoyt speaks, do they give her a dog treat and say "good girl"?

Her account of how Shorty was killed puzzles me aswell.  she had a hard time keeping her story straight.

First off, I realize this is an older post........so I apologize beforehand for bringing it up. But................
after reading several posts about BH's presence at Leslie VanHouten's parole hearing (7-6-10)......I thought I would review the Barbara Hoyt threads here.........Holy Cow!..... She evokes little or no sympathy from virtually anyone posting...... even the usually impartial, level-headed, Cats reacts.

BH has been verbally beaten up no matter when or where she has appeared........there are issues about her truthfulness, motives, vision (Atty. Kanarek), weight (recently), religious conviction (sincerity); the "mysterious" eyeglasses found in the Tate home (might be hers), and even, "how could she turn down a hamburger" (Hawaii LSD in burger episode).

I give her credit for trying to better herself (since 1969), getting an education, becoming a nurse, and helping others.

BTW, as per YouTube (trials) I think she says hi to her sister, "piggy mose" which she thinks is Spanish for pig (not even close).
  20. catscradle77 Administrator

    Alas, Joe, it is true.

I have no issue with her trying to better herself that is all well and good. But I bet Shorty would have liked that chance.

By all other accounts, Shorty was lured away during morning hours-to go get car parts.

When a tale is told, that goes against everything else, I have to question it.

My biggest question, or one of them, is why does she try and interject herself into something that she has probably mistaken for something else, year after year? It blurs the truth in the matter, and after awhile, her song and dance really becomes grating.

To even bring the word "Pig" into something and laugh about it, after testifying about Shorty, and knowing the words implication, made my stomach turn and made me question her sanity.

But time and time again, here comes Hoyt forty years later, and now she involves herself into something that does not involve her. Leads me back to why the tale of the night time woe of Shorty? Is she trying to involve herself into something that really she knows nothing about?

Her whole trip with Bill Nelson is another thing. The return to places that should be haunting to her-but yet she chose media whore Bill to revisit them instead of doing it in a more private way, with someone she has known for years that would offer comfort instead of a spotlight..

It was good to see Peter Smaldino there, he is blood. And he comes time and time again.
