While on another board I saw the Michael's Backporch Tapes channel on Youtube has been suspended for copyright violations. I then went to my Youtube subscriptions and it is indeed true. This is a great loss to all of our community. Michael has done a great deal of work of his channel and it has educated me so much on the case. We can only hope that his trove of videos is put back up very soon. Michael if you read this post please let us know what happened and if you can get things back up and running soon. I know everyone here supports your channel. As I said, this is a great loss. Jeff Harper
Looks like Tobann International Pictures made most of the complaints. That is Robert Hendrickson company. To bad Micheal had a lot of original content, not to mention all the phone conversations between him and Manson. I don't think there was much of Hendrickson's stuff there. Hopefully Mike can remove those clips and get back up and running
Michael-please let us know how things are turning out. Tobann indeed is Hendrickson, and he must have had a valid complaint about something or whatnot for it listed Tobann like five times. Dont know anything about the youtube copyright thing, but do they give notice to take stuff down?
All I know about Hendrickson is from my personal dealings with him. He is an alright guy, I never had a problem with him but he is really rabid about his copyrighted material. He created quite a stir for the folks at ebay awhile back. As I recall he sued them for infringement and won the suit. People had been bootlegging the original Manson film and selling it on ebay and half.com. I guess that is where he got the idea to re-release the original and the outtakes as a sequel on DVD. FB
It is a great loss indeed. Why didn't Hendrickson just ask Michael to take those vids down ? Why go directly to yt ? I would consider it "free advertising" for my movie if some footage appeared on BPT I for one was made aware of MANSON , the RH video, through BPT.... Damn shame....
He is an idiot, Hendrickson. He is so ridiculously paranoid about his copyright that he wouldn't even send me the video in Hong Kong: I was willing to pay double for it, but he feared it might be put on show without his control. In Hong Kong? Who has heard of Charlie here? So, what was I forced to do....he's a dick.
