Has anyone ever discussed or thought about the significance of August 9 in this case? I think it's interesting that August 9 was the chosen date to supposedly 'go to war', which is the same date the last A-bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, thus essentially ending World War 2. In Manson's ramblings WW2 is frequently mentioned, it seems to be a significant part of his thoughts and seems to know quite a bit of history on the subject and has been compared to Rommel in the desert with his makeshift Army. 'War' was carved on LLB's chest and in interviews Manson refers to war (i.e. "There's no murder in a holy war" in Rose interview). It's a long shot but any thoughts on the fact that maybe August 9 was chosen since it was the day the last war ended? Manson has said that he's "locked in the second world war" (Schrek interview I think), maybe the thinking was 'the wars not over yet people', and decided to reignite a war on that date. Just a thought, maybe ridiculous but 'no sense makes sense' eh? :shrug2: And with this case I'm starting to think anything's possible.
At the beginning of CM Superstar (or maybe the Bates documentary) they go through a list of historical happenings on that date and if memory serves there were a lot of them. If we learn nothing else from this case it is that anything is possible!! Even the other Prosecutors weren't so sure about Bug's HS theory yet he got most of the world believing in it. He won the death sentences and who would have thought that they would be ruled unconstitutional in a years time? Who would have thought 42 years later they would still be alive (with the exception of Adkins) and we'd still be trying to figure it all out? More than likely coincidence, but I wouldn't dismiss based on this idea. I think this is just more BS he fed Family members. I think CM is very aware of time and dates. In several interviews he mentions dates and their significance, and mentions time and dates quite a bit. Also as a dealer/con/thief he had to be places at certain times (drugs deals, stealing cars, parole meetings, recording studio time, meeting celebs, etc) so think he was more on the ball than admits. I think that's something he told his followers, and stripped them of their watches etc, but meanwhile he probably had a leather desk planner and a Rolex under his bed.
Well it is a significant date in my family. My older brother and my oldest sister were born on August 9...seven years apart. And that sister had her first grandchild last year on August 9. Some good things did happen on that date.
