It looks like there is a slight incline from the pool area to the guest house. If it was slightly elevated it would have given BG a birds eye view of ST's french doors where Gibby and Pat ran out and onto the lawm. The shrubs are low and well maintained, I bet he saw a lot more than he remembers. At least that's what I see from this picture. Nice one Cats.
FB, I read--or watched, little hazy here-- somewhere that he did and just kept quiet about it until things settled down. He was scared. Which, if you think about it would you want to run out there unarmed with crazies weilding weapons? I'd think about it first, no matter what Debra Tate has said about helping out.
What's the thing on the right side of the photo about halfway down? It looks sort of like a bridge?? Was it some sort of walkway? One of the purple watermarks sticks out on the side of it.
Melly...I think I would have run out the back door and kept going until I got far, far away. Geopeach...I wondered what that was too. I zoomed the photo but still can't tell. FB
FB, there was no incline leading up to the guesthouse. The terrace both houses were built on was level. As the drive led away from the garage area, there was a very slight downgrade that became more pronounced after passing through the gate, and moving down to Cielo Drive. HERE is a video taken of the property, back in the 90's, when Nine Inch Nails were recording there. It's pretty choppy, but it will give you an idea of what things looked like.
Mike, I see, it is an optical illusion--where the walkway widens it looks like a slight incline. We want to know what that is in the lower right...care to guess? It looks like a structure of some sort but it isn't very large. FB
OK, I guess I misunderstood what people were trying to identify. I think you are referring to the arch, indicated by the blue arrow. Yes? There were some steps there, that lead down to a lower terrace level. If you watch the video I linked, at 6:15, you'll see the cameraman walking up the steps to the guesthouse. At 7:50, you can see the steps, just left of the tree in the foreground.
yes, Mike, that's exactly what I was referring to. Now, I'm off to watch the video....thanks so much!
