Does this sound like a drug dealer to you?
    The Canyon Poems
A place for me to talk to you about living in Topanga CA during the late 60s and early 70s. There was so much going on then, wasn't there? The Love Ins, the protests ... it's almost too much to remember. So I write poems about that time that place. To remember. I'm going to tell you some stories, most of them funny, and ask you to tell me stories, too.

    The day Gary Hinman died

I cross the dwindling creek, walk the hush
and peace and arid swerves to Garys for piano.
His faded Volkswagon ovens in the sun.
    Ground squirrels chatter and stop.
I knock, and wait on his gray stairs. Listen.
To the small, peccant voices behind his front door.
Passing cars drown the drying sound of oak leaves
curling in the shade. Gary plays piano and bag pipes.
TeachestaughtShawn and Holly brass and flute.
Gary would have taught me to play, too, except
Charlie hacked Garys left ear, slashed his face
while something small as a front door stood
between my lesson and the two stab wounds
that stopped Garys heart, left the tinge
of feeble blood browning on living room walls.  Emily Wall

honestly this could still very well be a drug dealer. i'm friends with people that not only do drugs they've been known to occasionally sell some and they some of the best sweet, honest and loving people i've ever been friends with. just because you may smoke pot or drop acid doesn't mean you're a bad or dark person. so maybe according to some standards they are making poor decisions or "don't fit in with society" but they are still beautiful and are warm enough to help others learn to play music.

not trying to pick a fight or be rude. just standing up for the truth

And that is fine Baydo28, that is why we are here.

Yes, he could still be a drug dealer.

But, in the word sense selling drugs to your friends makes you a dealer yes. I was thinking when I hear that about Gary, that it seems to insinuate that he dealt on a larger scale than just helping a friend cop some weed or other stuff.

I know nothing about the production of mesc and how long etc. it would take to produce 1000 hits (which is what Gary supposedly sold Bobby)...I mean did he just make some and they knew, or was this a story, or was he dealing to a lot more people?

If he was dealing and making stuff in his house, then it should show stuff in the police report that one could consider a lab type deal.

I have never seen the actual police report and would like to see an inventory of Gary's house.
